Alto Garda

The Alto Garda area extends over the region of Trentino, as well as the northern part of the lake, and includes the Ledro Valley (Val di Ledro) and the Lakes Valley (Valle dei Laghi) with numerous water basins under which the most important are the Toblino lake, the Cavedine and the Santa Massenza lakes.
Within this broad area, the Sarca river meanders through a beautiful valley surrounded by dense vegetation that has a filled up landscape with palm trees, olive trees, vineyards and oleander. This area creates excellent wines such as Vino Santo Doc, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.
The Alto Garda area offers visitors both sublime architectural as well as natural views, just think of the "Marocche" from Dro, the "Marmitte dei Giganti" in Nago, the remains of the ice age, the castles of Arco / Drena or Tenno and to not forget, the fortresses in Riva del Garda or at the Toblino lake.

The northeast side of Lake Garda, is the archaeological area with the stunning remains of a stilt house of the Bronze Age.
The Alto Garda area is a really strange place with its lakes, which open at the edges of glacial valleys, the remains of ancient settlements - especially Romanesque small villages of the antique fishing or agriculture - which has since ever inspired world famous painters and poets and brought to the creation of unique works.
This is the land of nature and history, ideal for a relaxing and peaceful holiday, but also the spectacular stage on which every year take place major sporting events, especially windsurf contests and regattas.
