Lake Garda, and particularly its northern area, where the Tonelli hotels are located, is internationally known as a centre for rock-climbing, a hard and electrifying sport which attracts hundreds of athletes each year.
The places characterising Lake Garda, rock walls overhanging the sea, surrounded by thick vegetation, make for a natural paradise of athletic rock climbing -- a true outdoor palace.
Enthusiasts can put themselves to the test with many rock courses, challenging varied walls, cliffs, and via ferrata, using various rock climbing techniques in order to reach the summit, all thanks to equipment that allows users to move in complete safety.
Summer is the best time for climbers, although the warmer hours in other seasons are also quite suitable; an activity allowing climbers to admire the panorama, during and after, whose incredible natural beauty is preserved intact.
Among the places of greatest interest for rock-climbers are Argo, Nago, Torbole and Drena, with sheer cliffs on the sea or on the beach and with courses designed for experienced climbers, but where it is also possible to learn with the help of professionals.
Of special interest, on the rocky walls of Lake Garda there are high level sporting competitions where one can watch the techniques and strategies adopted by the expert climbers to conquer nature’s challenge . Of great importance is the Rock Master di Argo, a competition where world’s best professionals compete.
